In this guide we are going to setup GNS3 on a computer running Windows 7. GNS3 is a free network simulator that can simulate network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper and Arista etc. It is also an excellent tool for those who are studying for network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP and CCIE.
You will need the following:
- GNS3 software downloaded from https://www.gns3.com/
- Cisco IOS such as the c3725-adventerprisek9-mz124-15.bin or c7200-advipservicesk9-mz.152-4.S5.bin.
Step 1 Download
The simplest way to install GNS3 on Windows is to use the “all-in-one” installer that can be downloaded from gns3.com download section.

Step 2 Installation
Locate the file you downloaded and double-click on it to begin the installation. Afterwards it is just a matter of clicking on next button if you don’t want to customize your installation.
